62 male and female APC members representing seventeen Arab countries participated in the session, representing the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Tunisia, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Djibouti, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Sudan, the Republic of Iraq, the State of Palestine, the State of Kuwait, the Lebanese Republic, the State of Libya, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom Morocco and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania

During the interventions, held virtually through video communication on Zoom, due to the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, APC members pointed out the importance of discussing the community peace for children and explaining children’s role. They also discussed the importance of providing programmes, as well as holding civilised dialogue, thus contributing to community peace and achieving its goals and objectives.

The second session proceedings began with a speech by His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child (APC) welcoming the members of Parliament in the second session, congratulating the Bahraini Parliament, Retaj Al Abbasi, and calling on members to discuss the child’s role in community peace.

In their fifty-eight interventions, members of the Arab Parliament for the Child stressed the importance of adapting educational curricula and technical innovations in consolidating the meanings of peace and setting the priorities of building the values of Arab childhood on coexistence, peace and human success.

The members expressed their opinion and listened to each other, emphasising in their interventions the importance of children feeling more secure as part of the members of society when each person knows their limits and comply with all the laws that regulate the lives of individuals and do not allow aggression and transgression.

The members emphasised the positive role of the Arab child in serving the community, and the need to protect and rehabilitate through institutions, leading to a focus on the role of parents and the family in consolidating community peace.

The members also presented several topics on the role of the child in community peace and suggested many recommendations and touched upon many important axes in consolidating peace in the hearts of Arab children.
