Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) launched its qualitative programme "Teacher and Proud", which translates the visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in creating Emiratis’ competencies, upgrading their capabilities, and providing them with opportunities to extract their inner energies.
The “Sultan Al Qasimi Emiratisation” project, from which the “Teacher and Proud” programme emerged, is one of the vital projects aimed at providing suitable job opportunities in the private sector according to efficiency and capabilities. The purpose of the "Teacher and Proud" is to provide the opportunity for Emiratis to join the training diploma programme, and to acquire education skills to the highest standards.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, was also keen that Emirati employees in the private sector fall under the umbrella of Sharjah Government, where their salaries will equalise those of the government sector employees.

Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the SPEA, confirmed that the authority launched "Teacher and Proud", which translates the wisdom of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, in creating Emiratis’ competencies, upgrading their capabilities, and providing them with opportunities to extract their inner energies.

Al Hashemi added that the “Sultan Al Qasimi Emiratisation” Project’s goal is to enable Emiratis to teach in the UAE by providing everything they need to keep pace with the current phase’s requirements and fulfil the needs of the students. She confirmed that the graduates benefited from the training programme the authority provided in cooperation with the University of Sharjah, and they were able to acquire the necessary skills, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and the transformation of the educational system into digital, which gave them more skills, that are consistent with the aspirations of the state.

Ali Al Hosani, Director of the SPEA, pointed out that the authority seeks, through its endless efforts, to strengthen the educational community, explaining that several graduates of the programme joined the ranks of their counterparts in the educational field, after joining several private schools in Sharjah, to participate with their colleagues in the educational development.

Since the launch of the programme, the SPEA has developed a plan for their trainees by enrolling them in a one-year diploma programme in teaching, requiring the completion of 24 credit hours, 18 hours for the first semester, and 9 hours for the second semester, of which 3 hours are electives, and 6 Practical training hours in schools. The SPEA began interviewing Emiratis, specialised in Arabic language, English language, Islamic education, and Training Applications. Those who enrolled in the diploma teaching programme were able to obtain all they need in the teaching profession. The list of graduates included 42 people.

The SPEA celebrated and honoured the graduates of the programme in a ceremony held at the end of 2020, by giving them teaching licenses.
The Authority is currently preparing to announce the details of attending the new course of the programme including the terms and requirements of joining, to ensure achieving the desired goals, and enriching the educational system with Emirati educational competencies.
