Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has set regulations for the end of the first semester exams for private schools that follow foreign curricula, in order to ensure the highest levels of safety and security for students and employees.
This come within the framework of SPEA's efforts, its follow-up of the progress of the educational system, and its keenness to provide an appropriate environment that allows students to sit for their exams in an ideal environment free from stress or anxiety.
Ali Al Hosani, Director of SPEA, stressed the importance of applying preventive measures to preserve the safety of students and staff from administrative and teaching bodies before and during the exams, while continuing to apply the usual mechanisms that include temperature detection and sterilising all facilities and classes. In addition to wearing masks, and maintaining social distancing procedures with clearly visible signs and stickers.
The Director of SPEA also stressed the need to adhere to implementing procedures in the interest of public health, indicating that SPEA will carry out monitoring visits to check the progress of examinations and to ensure the commitment of schools and their compliance with the implementation of precautionary measures.
Al Hosani stated that foreign school examinations will be administered in schools according to the educational system that has been chosen, where students who have chosen distance learning can take the test according to the same system, provided that the school establishes an examination system based on measuring skills, while international board tests are required. Schools must adhere to the mechanism adopted in the method of these exams by the international council that organises them.
Al Hosani added that schools will be committed to conducting standardised tests electronically, whether at the school or remotely. Stating that distance learning students will perform their exams in the same system, pointing out that they can take the exams at their school headquarters, provided that these schools coordinate with test providers to ensure the validity and reliability of the results.
SPEA has also set a set of procedures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and to ensure that the educational process is properly conducted, in accordance with the instructions issued by the concerned authorities.
Ali Al Hosani called on students to study hard and be diligent, and to focus on reaching excellence, calling on parents to prepare the atmosphere and provide a healthy environment for students to help them review before exams, away from any external influences that may distract them, and work to reassure them and encourage them to succeed.
Since the start of the current academic year, SPEA has been keen to implement inspection rounds, to ensure that schools implement the precautionary measures, which SPEA has circulated to private schools through a guide, with the aim of ensuring the safety of students and all employees.
