Sharjah24: The Khorfakkan Department of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) revealed the installation and operation of 678 lighting poles in Khorfakkan and Dibba Al-Hisn and the replacement of 208 searchlights, aiming of providing security, safety and a cultural and aesthetic appearance in the areas of Khorfakkan and Dibba Al-Hisn.
Engineer Ahmed Al-Mulla, director of the Khorfakkan Department, explained that the Road Lighting Department has implemented projects to light internal streets in the districts of Khorfakkan and Dibba Al-Hisn, adding that the lighting poles and their accessories were installed, the electricity was connected and operated, and all the works of the internal street lighting project in Dibba Al-Hisn were implemented, including 302 poles, 317 LED energy-saving lighting that were installed, as well as 11,000-meter cables were extended.
He added that the internal street lighting in Khorfakkan was completed with 368 lighting poles and 368 LED energy-saving searchlights, and 12,500 meters of cables were extended. He pointed out that as part of the project to develop the lighting of the internal streets, (208) mercury vapor spotlights were replaced with energy-saving LED headlights in Khorfakkan. He stressed that lighting projects are among the necessary projects to ensure the beauty of the residential neighborhoods, providing security and safety to the motorists and pedestrians, towards ensuring further continuous development.
