Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority's ( SEWA’s) Water Department, Research and Studies Department, and Water and Desalination Plant Department all actively participated in the fifth Arab Water Forum "Arab Water Security for Peace and Sustainable Development," and the accompanying exhibition in Dubai, organized by the Arab Council Water under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, with the cooperation of the Arab League and Egypt's Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, from September 21 to 23, 2021 in Dubai.
The participation, according to Engineer Essam Al Mulla, Director of the Water Department, aims to exchange experiences with government delegations, private sector representatives, and experts from 22 Arab countries on a number of key issues, including achieving water and energy security, climate change and its impact on Arab water security, and desalination techniques as a viable option.
According to Eng. Faisal Al Serkal, Director of the Water and Desalination Plants Department, the authority's platform at the Arab Water Exhibition showcases the authority's efforts in the fields of water sustainability, strategic storage projects, and advanced technologies used in desalination units and development.
The studies conducted by the authority in collaboration with the University of Sharjah and presented through the authority's platform at the Fifth Arab Water Forum aim to address critical issues, contribute to society's development, and crystallize the Emirate of Sharjah's needs in the fields of energy and water, according to Engineer Mayada Al-Bardan, Director of the Research Department.
