HSC discusses cooperation with Khorfakkan Fishers Association

Sharjah 24: The Hayawa Suburb Council (HSC) of the Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Departments (SDVAD) met with the Khorfakkan Fishers Coop Association, and discussed aspects of continuous cooperation and coordination with the aim of serving fishermen and preserving the fishing profession as one of the crafts inherited from ancestors in Khorfakkan.
The meeting was held in the presence of His Excellency Khaled Ahmed Buhendi, Chairman of the Hayawa Suburb Council, a number of members and employees, with His Excellency Salah Abdullah Al Raisi, Chairman of the Association's Board of Directors, and a number of members from the Association.

During the meeting, the Hayawa District Council stressed the importance of providing support to enable fishermen to practice the profession of their parents and grandparents, and the importance  of fishing as a food resource in the region, in light of the great support received from the wise leadership and the keenness of the people of the region to practice the profession.

His Excellency Khalid Ahmed Buhendi, Chairman of the Hayawa Suburb Council, stressed that the council pays great attention to follow up the fishermen affairs and cooperates with the association as an umbrella that includes all Khorfakkan fishermen, and works to cooperate in order to provide the best ways to enhance the work of fishermen.

His Excellency Salah Abdullah Al Raisi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, praised the efforts of Hayawa Suburb Council to prioritise fishermen, stressing that the Association’s Board of Directors is pleased to cooperate with HSC in order to serve fishermen and overcome the challenges they face in practicing fishing.

Both parties discussed ways of cooperation in organising joint marine activities for the families and fishermen, as well as touching on the needs of Hayawa fishermen aiming at working with the concerned authorities to meet their needs.
