Her Excellency commended Abu Zahra's excellent education and determination to keep up with the latest technology methods in educating deaf children, as did his colleagues from the school, who received the MIE Expert in more than 80% of cases.
Sheikha Jameela also congratulated the school's administration and staff on being named a Microsoft model school for the sixth year in a row for its use of innovative techniques of education and its reliance on the use of technology in the educational process.
Mohammed Abu Zahra, who has been teaching at Al Amal School for the Deaf for 23 years after being a student there, expressed his pride as the first deaf person to receive the certification.
He expressed his sincere gratitude to Her Excellency Sheikha Jameela bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, who has been and continues to be his most steadfast supporter and advisor in all areas.
He also expressed gratitude to Afaf Al Haridi, Director of Al Amal School for the Deaf, and his co-workers, wishing them all success.
Microsoft has named Al Amal School for the Deaf, as a model school for the sixth year in a row. There has been no other school in the country dedicated to deaf and hard of hearing children since it opened in 1979. It follows the Ministry of Education's curriculum and has been using the Mohammed bin Rashid Smart Learning Program since 2013.
