Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) has completed on Friday morning the implementation of the second phase of the Fishermen's Wharf (FW) project in Al Khan. The project was handed over after its completion to Al Khalidiya Suburb Council (KSC) affiliated to Districts and Villages Affairs Department (DVAD) and Sharjah Fishermen Cooperative Society.
A delegation from the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works met with His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of Al Khalidiya Council, in the presence of several dignitaries from all of the three sides, ensuring the hand-over phase of the project.
Several dignitaries have inspects the facilities of the project, being completed by the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works at the request of Al Khalidiya Suburb Council, with the aim of providing berths for fishing boats to accommodate all registered fishermen and practitioners of the fishing profession. The gesture comes in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide infrastructure to accommodate fishermen's boats according to the highest specifications.
Prior to the handover, a joint meeting was held at the headquarters of the Al Khalidiya Suburb Council, in which His Excellency Khalfan Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Al Khalidiya Suburb Council, welcomed the delegation of the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works, praising the efforts and the directives of His Excellency Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Directorate of Public Works, SDPW, contributing in implementing the project.
Al-Marri expressed the fishermen's pride in the implementation of the project, extending the highest thanks and praise to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, lauding His Highness’ directives to establish projects that serve the people and maintain the sustainability of their resources.
