Sharjah 24: His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amen Al Awadi, Director-General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), stressed the great economic value of Dried Fish and Fishing Festival, which SCCI launched its eighth edition in cooperation with Dibba Al Hisn Municipality.
His Excellency praised the remarkable institutional and public presence on the first day of the festival in Dibba Al Hisn.
In statements to “Sharjah 24” on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the eighth edition of the festival, His Excellency maintained that the festival is one of the important events supporting the Emirate's economy, as it is one of the most important and oldest national industries.
His Excellency added that the festival contributes to enhancing the commercial movement in the city of Dibba Al Hisn, and is an ideal opportunity for shops specialised in the fish industry, and for families to present their products to the consumer.
His Excellency noted the distinguished participation of many government departments in the activities of the eighth edition of the festival through its wings, presented many goods and organised events related to the marine environment and the folklore associated with the fish industry.
His Excellency pointed out that holding the festival this year comes as a continuation of the plans of SCCI for the return of economic activities, especially in the Eastern and Central Regions.
