Sharjah 24: Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) continues providing psychological empowerment programmes to orphans and guardians securing a balanced psychological and emotional life for them based on scientific and mental health care criteria.
The Foundation succeeded in providing psychological services, from which 53 guardians and 38 orphans benefited from during the year 2021 benefited and psychological programmes such as “Skip” programme from which achieving 15 guardians and 27 orphans benefited.
Maryam Malallah, Director of the Foundation's Psychological Service, stated that the Foundation strives to reach psychological empowerment and personal and social harmony for each orphan and guardian through the psychological services and programmes it provides.
She also pointed out that it is the programmes manage and treat several psychological issues some orphans and guardians suffer from such as anxiety, depression, or guilt. It also helps preventing psychological disorders that may arise from exposure to daily life pressures.
Attempting to secure a balanced psychological and emotional life, the Foundation activates various services to help children reach a stabile state of mental health via comprehensive counseling programmes such as initial assessment sessions, psychological counseling, and psychological tests.
“Skip” is one the psychological programmes offered by the Foundation. It consists of special periodic sessions that helps orphans unload and release the stress early to protect them from the effects of loss later, in relation to the shock of the father's death, and to adapt to requirements of the new life.
