The SSEF supports about 2,000 orphans. They grew up in the arms of their widowed mothers after the death of their fathers. These mothers defied all difficulties and went through periods in which they gave everything they possessed, and devoted all their time for the sake of these orphaned children.
The International Widows Day is an opportunity to remind members of society of the importance of standing by the widows, recognising their rights and the importance of their role in building a strong interconnected family despite the absence of the family's breadwinner.
The SSEF, which operates under the holistic humanitarian directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, plays its caring role towards orphans and their families. It has developed many programmes and projects for all mothers to take care of their psychological and social health, and to provide health support to them, in addition to providing them with monthly financial support, emergency aid in difficult situations they face, as well as courses that increase their knowledge in all aspects of life and ensure that they are educated in various life issues that concern them and the responsibility of caring for their children through social programmes and specialised counseling sessions in the psychological and social areas, which allow them build a safe and buoyant life with motivation and continuity.
The SSEF has produced inspiring mothers who struggled and charted their path with achievements that we are proud of.
