SAVW honours winners in its 18th edition

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work (SAVW) honoured the winners of the 18th edition for the year 2021, in a virtual ceremony broadcasted on Sharjah TV, under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council.
This honourable award is granted to pioneers of volunteering in various fields under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Her Excellency Afaf Ibrahim Al Marri, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council, Chairman of the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), confirmed that the award has a positive impact in promoting voluntary work and enhancing its values among members of the society, encouraging community development projects.

On this occasion, Her Excellency Afaf Al Marri congratulated the winners, as well as those who volunteered in fighting COVID-19, requesting their continual support of promoting volunteering experiences.

Commenting on the occasion, Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), stated that the emphasis on the value and impact of volunteering is one of the main messages adopted by the SBA. It comes from the fundamental visions of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to be a role model for people worldwide.
