Sharjah 24: His Excellency Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), received His Excellency Khamis bin Salim Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Districts and Villages Affairs Department (DVAD), Sheikh Majid bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of Districts and Villages Affairs Department (DVAD), and the Dawahi Festival team, to discuss the necessary preparations to organise the 10th edition of the festival.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority stressed, during the meeting, SEWA’s keenness to provide the necessary support for the success of the activities of the tenth edition of the Dawahi Festival. In addition to providing the requirements for the delivery of electricity, water and gas services, to organise the activities of the festival, which has developed over the past years.
His Excellency Khamis bin Salem Al Suwaidi indicated that the tenth edition of the Dawahi Festival, which will be organised in the city of Sharjah, will take into account all health precautions, and aims to increase the number of volunteers, especially from the youth category, and that the number of government and private entities participating over the past years has reached 84.
His Excellency stressed that the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for DVAD’s activities, including the Dawahi Festival, and His Highness continuous follow-up, which contributed to its many successes over the past years.
His Excellency praised the role that SEWA played in supporting the festival's activities and providing the necessary capabilities for its success, and called for SEWA’s participation in a number of programmes offered by the festival, through the Department of Conservation to spread a culture of awareness of the optimal use of energy and water.
For his part, Sheikh Majid bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi pointed out the importance of the festival and its role in enhancing social and family cohesion, which DVAD aims to consolidate in the hearts of members of society.
He stressed that DVAD aims to hold consultative meetings with societal bodies and institutions of all kinds and fields, to achieve more cooperation and achieve maximum benefit from various plans, programmes and events, praising the support provided by SEWA to the Dawahi Festival.
