Sharjah24: The annual report of the Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties (SCLD) for 2019-2020 confirmed the center's insistence on leadership in advocating, containing and empowering people with learning disabilities in the UAE and the Arab world, despite the spread of the global pandemic.
The report included the strategic plan that outlines the center's course of action for the next five years, as part of the center's strategy and mission to devote its developmental and educational role and achieve vision and leadership at the local and Arab levels, including key axes in sustainability, social protection, quality and development, leadership, to achieve the strategic goals, which included several operational initiatives.
In line with the services provided to students, the center remained active in the extremely difficult circumstances due to the Corona pandemic, as it even increased its activity significantly, the number of students enrolled in the center until the date of this report was issued was 653 students and the number of remote sessions during the "Covid-19" pandemic, reached to more than 2771 sessions.
The center participated in virtual external conferences and seminars with a total attendance of 1254 people, and 14 awareness programs were presented with the attendance of nearly two thousand participants.
The Center held the second conference for learning difficulties, with the participation of 25 specialists, and the attendance of 400 followers and interested persons, with the aim of improving the quality of life for people with learning disabilities.

The Center's activities indicate a well-studied plan to develop social awareness of learning difficulties, provide diagnostic and treatment services, and develop the cognitive and scientific capabilities of workers in the education sector in particular.
Under the current circumstances, the Sharjah Center for Learning Disabilities was able to continue its developmental, humanitarian and educational role despite the periods of complete closure, which extended for long periods during the past year, and this is illustrated by the annual report with numbers, data and information, with ambitious plans for the coming years.
