Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties (SCLD), in cooperation with Ajman University and AJAD Training Centre, offers the Professional Diploma in Learning Difficulties, which aims to train public education teachers to be able to work in the field of learning difficulties.
Commenting on this, Dr. Hanadi Al Swaidi, Head of Sharjah Center for Learning Difficulties, pointed that SCLD seeks to turn this important Diploma into a gateway for educators to specialised and trained staff , whereas learning difficulties are not extensively included in universities’ curricula or education programmes on special education.

Al Swaidi highlighted that a specialised diploma earned after graduating in college or institute, develops skills of specialists, professionals, educators and those interested in the field of learning difficulties; it also helps teachers to identify cases requiring special attention.  She also added that the Diploma trains teachers to help parents understand that their children have learning difficulties, to develop strategies to help them.

Al Swaidi explained that SCLD previously implemented the same programme with the University of Sharjah, and, currently, now it is implemented in cooperation with Ajman University.

Al Swaidi concluded that the programme fills major gaps in educational plans, and provides equal opportunities for children with learning difficulties to keep pace with their peers.

The 6-week diploma programme will be conducted remotely on Zoom, from May 23 to July 4, where participants will receive 100 hours of theoretical and practical training.
