Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) organised more than 1763 inspection visits to food establishments, barbershops and beauty centres during Eid Al-Adha as part of its efforts and plan during the holiday to ensure that these establishments adhere to all health standards and controls regulating the workflow, and also adhere to the preventive and precautionary measures that were previously announced and carried out.
Sheikha Shaza Al Mualla, Assistant Director General of the Public Health Sector and Central Laboratories at Sharjah Municipality, confirmed that the municipality has formed a team of inspectors to deal with the public’s complaints, and the continuous inspection of food establishments such as restaurants, bakeries, cafeterias, meat and fish stores, barbershops and beauty centres, where these establishments witness a great turnout from the public.
Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Director General of Sharjah Municipality for the Customer Service Sector, stated that the call centre received about 2360 calls during Eid, which varied between general inquiries, suggestions for improvement and various requests, noting that the Centre received public calls around the clock.
Commenting on this, Al Suwaidi confirmed that the municipal inspection teams intensified visits during the Eid to deal with any negative behaviours, making sure not to sell and promote fireworks or deal with free-lance butchers, taking legal and administrative actions against them, as they pose a threat to public health and the environment.
Ali Obaid Al Hamoudi, Director of the Institutional Communication Department, explained that Sharjah parks received the public in accordance with preventive measures that ensure social distancing, receiving about 73000 visitors during the Eid, and the municipality worked to provide an ideal atmosphere for visitors to spend enjoyable times.
