Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) confirmed it has concluded preparations to receive the blessed Eid Al Adha according to systematic plans by all concerned sectors and departments to ensure the provision of services in accordance with the best standards.
SM has also taken all procedures to implement various inspection visits, whether on food establishments, barbershops and beauty centres, or organising intensive campaigns to monitor all distortions of the general appearance and negative behaviours and taking the necessary measures against them by the inspection teams that continue to work around the clock.

In this context, Sheikha Shatha Al Mualla, Assistant Director-General of the Public Health Sector and Central Laboratories, announced the formation of inspection teams to intensify campaigns, tours and inspection visits to food  establishments, especially restaurants and cafeterias, which witness a high turnout during Eid to ensure their compliance with all health controls and standards regulating the workflow, and also adherence to preventive and precautionary measures announced by the municipality previously, noting that the municipality formed another team to inspect barbershops and beauty centres.

Sheikha Al Mualla confirmed that the veterinary clinic in the Jubail area will be closed temporarily from July 19 until 23, as it will witness development and modernisation during this period.

For his part, Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Director-General of the Customer Service Sector at SM, stated that intensive inspection campaigns will be organised to monitor negative behaviours and distortions of the general appearance, such as dealing with roaming butchers, as they pose a threat to health due to the lack of examination of the sacrifice, which in turn exposes the consumer to various diseases not to mention their non-adherence to sanitary and hygienic practices.

He pointed out that the inspection campaigns will include making sure that the sale and circulation of fireworks and firecrackers is prohibited because of the danger they pose to members of society, especially children, because they contain substances harmful to health.

The Assistant Director-General of the Customer Service Sector noted that public parking in the city will be paid for on the Day of Arafat, and free of charge on the first, second and third days of Eid, with the exception of some areas subject to fees throughout the weekdays and official holidays, which can be identified by the blue parking signs installed below the indicative panels for public parking.

Ali Obaid Al Hamoudi, Director of the Institutional Communication Department, explained that Sharjah public parks will receive the public according to preventive measures and controls that ensure social distancing, as they open their doors from 4 PM to 10 PM, and the Sharjah National Park receives visitors from 8 AM until 12 midnight.

The municipality called on the public to call 993 to report any violations or observations, as it welcomes all calls around the clock.
