Sharjah 24: Engineer Sawsan Butti, Director of Facilities and Projects Department at Sharjah Municipality (SM), indicated that SM has developed a plan for the gradual transition from traditional lighting to environmentally friendly ones in its various facilities.
The Director of Facilities and Projects Department at SM stated that the first half of 2021 witnessed the installation of environmentally friendly lighting in 6 parks, namely: Al Shahba, Al Tarfa, Dasman, Samnan, Al Tala’a, and Al Rifa'a.
Butti added, in statements to "Sharjah 24", that 322 lamps were replaced, which led to a decrease in consumption by 47.6%, pointing out that SM has completed converting 85% of the lighting of public parks in the city to environmentally friendly ones, in line with its strategy of achieving sustainability, reducing energy consumption and preserving the environment.
