Sharjah 24: His Excellency Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, confirmed that volunteer work contributes to supporting the effectiveness of institutional work, efficiently achieving its goals, and accomplishing its message in a distinct manner motivated by social responsibility, and the past period has proven the great role played by volunteers in line with the efforts of the UAE government in all fields.
This came during a ceremony honouring volunteers from the Sharjah Volunteer Centre and the Emirates Volunteer Centre for the completion of the digital library project, in the presence of Brigadier Dr. Khalid Al Hammadi, Director of the Sharjah Police Research Centre, Brigadier General Arif bin Hudayb, Director of Media and Public Relations Department, and Colonel Ali Saif Al Dabbahi, Deputy Director of the Department, who had a prominent role with the work team in completing the project efficiently, and archiving more than 22 thousand titles.
The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police expressed gratitude and appreciation for the great efforts made by the volunteers in achieving the objectives of the project to be a scientific tributary for scholars, readers, researchers and interested people around the world, and to benefit from the library's rich titles in police and security fields.
Brigadier Dr. Khaled Al Hammadi highlighted that the digital library project came in line with the UAE government's objective regarding the digital transformation of services and achieving the quality of life for the UAE community, stressing that the digital library is in line with the international specifications and standards applicable in the management of libraries.
He pointed out that the project was implemented in cooperation with the Sharjah Volunteer Centre and the Emirates Volunteer Centre, where the 30 volunteers were trained in specialised courses, workshops and seminars to achieve the desired goals, pointing to the effective role that resulted quickly in cataloging 22 thousand titles, which contributed to achieving effective and distinguished results.
