Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police Headquarters (SP), on Thursday evening, launched the virtual summer programme "Your Awareness Protects Your children" in its second edition, organised by the Community Police Department of SP, in cooperation with the Sharjah Education Council and the Sharjah Sports Club.
This came with the aim of educating the students on negative behaviours and phenomena, and informing parents on the importance of their role in protecting their children. The programme will continue throughout the summer vacation for school students, which is scheduled from July 12 until the end of August.
The 2nd edition of the summer programme is the embodiment of Sharjah Police (SP)’s social role and its responsibilities towards society and to reduce negative phenomena, ward off their dangers, and enhance security and safety.
The summer programme included a package of educational lectures and workshops aiming to raise parents and students awareness on dealing with emergencies and negative behaviours.
Lt. Colonel Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the Community Police Department, stated that the summer programme highlights the important role of the family and parents in educating and protecting their children from dangers.
The Director of Community Police Department praised the importance of cooperation with strategic partners from the Parents’ Council, which played a major role in reaching the largest a segment of parents, and enhancing their awareness of the role entrusted to them towards their children. The first day of the summer programme witnessed a great interaction from the students, and the participating parents, through a paramedic lecture, which is concerned with introducing and educating the basics of first aid and how to perform it when accidents occur at home and public places, and how to contact the ambulance service in the event of any emergency.
