Sharjah 24: The International School of Storytelling and Oral Arts of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) organised 3-day workshops to teach writing techniques of children’s heritage story, under the title “Tales Marathon” initiative, as part of building new generations of storytellers.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage said that the Sharjah Institute is keen to protect, and preserve heritage, therefore, the workshop aims to transfer heritage to the future generations.
His Excellency extended his thanks to the International School of Storytelling and Oral Arts for conducting attractive activities and events, including this workshop, which contributed to enhancing and developing mental and emotional abilities, and highlighting children's narrative talents.
For her part, Huda Al Naboodah, Director of the International School of Storytelling and Oral Arts, said that the 3-day workshop targets children from 8 to 12 years old, under the supervision of Professor Qassem Soudi, and aims at teaching children how to tell the story correctly, whereas SIH aims to implement programmes preserving the tale in all its traditional forms, including folk, mythical and fairy tales, which opens up new horizons for new tales inspired by oral heritage, and reviving the arts of storytelling.
