Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA) launched "Watar", the latest specialised channel that operates around the clock, and broadcasts a wonderful selection of oldies sung by the most famous Arab singers, in addition to a selection of the most beautiful and immortal Gulf songs.
Watar radio will present a package of the timeless masterpieces featuring the most important Arab and Gulf singers such as Talal Maddah, Muhammad Abdo, Abu Bakr Salem and other stars.

Watar radio will broadcast songs around the clocks, as it will not present traditional programmes and interviews, but will enrich the taste and knowledge of listeners with short breaks introducing the most prominent information related to songs and the most famous, Arab and international singers. Musical, its history, role and a lot of valuable technical information.

Listeners will enjoy the mystical eastern music, whereas Watar radio will broadcast oldies for Um Kalthoum, Moahmmed Abdel Wahab in addition to a number of songs of Abdelhalim Hafez, Farid Al Atrash, Talal Maddah, Mohammed Abdou and Abu Bakr Salim.

In an exceptional step, the radio will broadcast, every Friday from 10 to 11 pm, recordings of creative local talents, giving them the opportunity to reach the public who will learn about their unique talent.

Saif Al Shallal, Director of Watar Radio, said that SBA is keen to expand its channels and radio stations and provide media content that improves audience taste. He added that SBA seeks to keep pace with the times. 

Al Shallal concluded that after launching the English Pulse 95 radio, SBA introduces a large number of classical music and Arab oldies, which diversifies the content offered to the audience.
