Sharjah 24: The Kalba Department of Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) organised a remote “Peak Hour” forum to shed light on the objectives and mechanisms for implementing the initiative and review the efforts of the participating authorities.
The 'Peak Hour' initiative was launched by SEWA under the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on 1 July of each year from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
The forum was attended by His Excellency Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Kalba Municipality Council, His Excellency Dr. Ali Obaid Al Zaabi, Financial and Administrative Deputy to the Assistant Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, Kalba Branch. In addition to representatives of Sharjah Islamic Affairs, Kalba Comprehensive Police Station, Sharjah Economic Development Department, Kalba Ladies Club and Ittihad Kalba Club.
In a statement, His Excellency the Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) stressed that SEWA is working with the support and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to develop ideas and partnerships. This comes in aim of using technology to achieve sustainability and provide the best services to the Emirate of Sharjah.
His Excellency pointed out that the “Peak Hour” initiative is a model for cooperation between institutions in supporting such vital issues and raising awareness of daily best practices. Along with promoting the concept of sustainable consumption and encouraging members of society to change their behaviour towards energy and water to preserve natural resources, and to ensure a better future for upcoming generation by protecting the environment.
His Excellency valued the efforts of all participants in the forum to support the 'Peak Hour' initiative, which aims to draw the attention of community leaders, institutions and individuals to the necessity of adhering to the principles of optimal use of energy and water.
