59 winners in the 27th Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) and the Educational Operations Sector at the Emirates Education Foundation topped the winning categories of the 27th edition of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence, whereas 49% were nationals and 51% were residents.
This year, the Award allocated 3 winners for each school stage from the fourth to twelfth grade.

His Excellency Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council, stressed that Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence aims, through its mission, to deepen the concepts of excellence and creativity, implement quality programmes; deepen the concepts of excellence; encourage all individuals and educational institutions to develop their performance and promote positive trends towards knowledge and research; spread the spirit of innovation among students, researchers and educational institutions; fuel the spirit of competition between individuals and educational institutions in the field of scientific excellence; and direct individual and institutional energies towards scientific excellence in areas that serve UAE development.

Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi said that the 27th edition of Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence has achieved remarkable development by introducing new categories and updating all previous categories.

His Excellency Mohamed Al Mulla, Secretary General of the Council, explained that the participation rate in the 27th edition of the Award has increased, reaching 799 applicants, compared to 575 in the 26th edition, which reflects the Award’s success in attracting those wishing to apply for participation this year despite the pandemic conditions and distance learning.

The number of candidates for the second phase of the Award also increased to 340 participants, compared to 320 last year. In the final interview phase, their number reached 193 applicants this year, compared to 107 last year, noting that the number of winners in the 27th edition amounted to 59 applicants representing public and private educational institutions at the UAE level.

Al Mulla noted that the Award organised this year 46 introductory virtual workshops that reviewed the Award criteria and best practices for the winners, and was attended by 3,659 participants, including applicants for the Award and their family members.
