Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police General Command launched the 'Awareness Ambassadors' competition, which translates its vision to protect the younger generations from the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances.
The competition aims to promote the concept of positive citizenship and national contribution to spreading awareness about drug harm, and building a platform that provides an opportunity for community members to participate in combating the dangers of drugs.

Lt. Colonel Majed Al Asam, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department at the Sharjah Police General Command, stressed the leadership’s belief in the role of the various groups of society in supporting the security work system and its effective contribution to spreading the concepts of positive behaviour.

This comes in line with enhancing the quality of life, given the danger of drugs and the damage they cause to all at the social, economic and security levels, noting the role of the well-versed leadership in combating drugs, and harnessing all its capabilities to achieve this goal.

The Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department indicated that the launch of the 'Awareness Ambassadors' competition in its first edition for the year 2021 coincides with the International Anti-Drug Day, which falls on 26 June each year, in order to build a platform that allows members of society to participate in the fight against drugs.

Such endeavour is carried out through the use of advanced technologies, in the field of graphic design and multimedia, with aim of contributing to spreading societal awareness to combat drugs, and protecting children and youth from this deadly danger that threatens the future of the country.

Lt. Colonel Al Asam explained that participation in the competition is available to male and female students at all levels in all educational institutions, employees in government, semi-governmental and private departments and institutions, and all citizens and residents of UAE.

The general provisions and technical conditions to participate in the competition can be viewed through the link https://nodrugs.shjpolice.gov.ae, during the period from June 26 to August 26, and prizes have been allocated to the first three winners in the (Motion Graphics) category and (short video) category.
