Sharjah24: Dr. Asmaa Mohammed Al Darmaki, Director of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) Branch in Kallba, told "Shariah 24" "that the branch plays an important role in embracing, educating, and empowering people with disabilities to become self-sufficient and pave the way for them to achieve their dreams of living an independent life."
Through its many sections, the branch, which opened in 2006, provides education and rehabilitation services as well as career opportunities for more than 93 male and female students with disability.
"The branch houses the Al-Wafa School for Capacity Development, and provides different educational and rehabilitative programmes, including the social and economic empowerment "Tracks Programme” for children above the age of 16," Al Darmaki added.
She explained that the Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services branch in Kalba admits people with disability of all ages in order to guarantee their right to education and development until they reach the level of integration and employment.
Kalba SCHS branch hosts a variety of programmes and events throughout the year, including Early Intervention Week, World Down Syndrome Day, Autism Week, “Sanabil al-Mahabah,” Summer Caravan and Winter Camp.
