Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Islamic Forum (SIF) disclosed the details of the session of its 11th edition, which will be held online from June 26 to July 8, under the theme "The Best of Stories," in a virtual news conference.
The forum aims to promote cultural variety in society and provide an objective alternative to contemporary views of Islamic culture, and to revive the tradition of reflection and sermons based on the narrative of the Holy Qur'an in order to meet the demands of Sharia scholars and researchers.
Dr. Majid Bushlaibi, Secretary-General of the SIF, hosted the news conference through WebEx in the presence of the heads of the executive committees, a number of academics and scholars and members from the media.
He emphasised that Sharjah, under the cultural vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, holds a distinguished international cultural position. It has also been a destination for intellectuals and researchers in various fields and human knowledge for its efforts in preserving cultural variety and fostering Islamic culture.
The SIF is at the forefront of Sharjah's Islamic cultural work scene, and throughout the year, a significant number of various cultural programmes specialised in the academic topics are dedicated, according to a deliberate agenda, to enhance Sharjah's position and achieve His Highness's wise vision.
Majid Bushlaibi gave a sneak peek at the forums' schedule, which will be available at http://emuntada.ae, and explained that the Islamic Forum contributed over 20,000 hours of viewing time for about 300 specialised and general topics of Islamic culture in the previous year, as well as 58 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
