Sharjah 24 - WAM: The Sharjah Islamic Forum ( SIF) concluded Thursday, a two-day virtual symposium titled "Astronomy and its Impact on Islamic Culture" as part of the Forum's efforts to revive Islamic civilisation's sciences and knowledge, and to also highlight the role of Arab and Muslim astronomers in astronomy and the development of physical laws.
Majid Bushlaibi, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Islamic Forum (SIF), highlighted the importance of astronomy in Islamic culture and its direct impact on religious rites, and Muslims' creative role in developing astronomical observation tools and a scientific approach based on empirical observation concepts.

The symposium concluded with two lectures: “The New Rules of Travel and Space,” by Professor Dr. Ali Al-Rawahna, Head of the Sharia Department at Imam Malik College in Dubai, and “Al-Matli' and Al-Durur,” by Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, a member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences (AUASS).
