Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) has announced the establishment of AED 566,000 "Sharjah Charity Hospital" project in Bangladesh, as part of its charitable work and projects in developing countries.
Mohammed Hamdan Al Zari, Director of Sharjah Charity International's (SCI) Projects Department, said: "In implementation of the directives of the SCI's board of directors headed by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Qasimi, it is planned to establish the "Sharjah Charity Hospital" in one of the districts of Chittagong province in the Republic of Bangladesh. The hospital, which will sit on an area of 342 square metres, will include an emergency department, general examination section, surgeries department, ultrasound and x-rays department, as well as a pharmacy. The project will be built in coordination with the UAE embassy and through the SCI’s office in Bangladesh.
Al Zari explained that the project comes as a continuation of the SCI's efforts to provide health care for patients in remote areas where medical centres are rare, in translation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to implement charitable work to improve health care through a package of projects and initiatives aimed at caring for patients and reconstructing areas that lack health facilities, noting that the hospital also serves the residents of neighbouring villages.
Al Zari added that the project has a great impact in improving the health of the residents of those areas who are deprived of these facilities, and is a continuation of charitable construction and an increase in the endowment projects to which the SCI gives great care and attention, calling on benefactors to donate to the Charity’s various projects, praising their role in supporting such projects.
