“Mleiha Archaeological Centre, established in 2016 under the aegis of the Sharjah government and has accomplished a lot since then, is a contemporary centre located in Meilha district in Sharjah,” he explained. He continued, “It is not only a stand-alone centre, but also an experience centre where visitors may take excursions of Mleiha's deserts and landscapes showing archaeology and natural history, among other things.”
Visitors to Mleiha Centre can participate in a variety of activities, not just educational ones, such as watch ups, archaeological excursions, and adventure activities. Visitors can also engage in buggy self-drives, tracking excursions, overnight camps, or enjoy sunset lounges’ experience and day trips into Mleiha's deserts and mountains, showcasing not only the archaeological but also the natural treasures that Meilha has to offer to the world.
Meilha is unquestionably one of the most important tourist destinations in the UAE, owing to its importance as an archaeological site with discoveries dating back to the Palaeolithic period, when early people left Africa and arrived in the UAE, particularly in Mleiha, and other areas of the world.
Ajamal stated that, “the centre’s major goal is to promote the archaeological and natural wonders of Mleiha's township to the rest of the world, and that he hopes that more people would recognise the importance of the site and come to visit and participate in the activities we provide.”
