Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) has announced the start of the second phase of evaluating the performance of a government employees will start early June and runs until the end of July.
This phase aims to review the employees’ performance and to discuss the extent to which they have achieved the annual required goals, and the possibility of changing or modifying them. It also aims for guidance and follow-up by the direct official and helps him make recommendations and observations to improve and develop performance.

The phases of the performance appraisal system include the first stage, which is concerned with planning based on setting individual goals for the employee, and his main work responsibilities, as well as determining the level of achievement in relation to the required behavioural competencies, discussing and correcting challenges, and adjusting goals to achieve a better level of performance. This is followed by the final evaluation phase, which is based on the employees’ achievements substantiated by documents by the immediate supervisor through which challenges that faced the employees throughout the year are identified and suggestions for improvement are proposed.

The evaluation process will be carried out electronically.

On the performance appraisal review phase, Dr. Tariq Sultan bin Khadem, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the SDHR, explained the role of this phase in developing the efficiency and productivity of employees, and notifying them of the volume and value of the work they provide. He stressed the importance of the performance appraisal system as a means to urge the employees to self-evaluate their work, and a reference to establish opportunities for fairness, transparency and parity among employees, and to motivate them for continuous development and improvement.
