Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources (SDHR) organised a workshop entitled "Towards the next 50", with the aim of engaging its employees in UAE's preparations for the first phase of the country's centennial, in line with the development of a comprehensive vision for government work for the next 50 years.
This is a step to develop a long-term national vision by contributing to the design of a comprehensive plan for UAE until the year 2071. The current stage constitutes a unique qualitative point in the country's accelerated development process, to launch the largest functional business strategy of its kind in preparation for the next 50 years.
The workshop reviewed the action plan and themes of the UAE Centennial 2071, discussing a number of themes on which the project of designing the next fifty years for the UAE is based, namely: government, education, economy and society.
The first axis represented laying the foundations for creating a flexible, proactive government with a conscious and wise leadership that has a clear and stable vision that aims to achieve community happiness and deliver positive messages to the world.
The second axis discussed investment in education, relying on advanced science, technology and engineering, consolidating moral values and opening minds to the experiences of developed countries.
The third axis focused on achieving a diversified knowledge economy that competes with the best economies of the world and focuses on advanced industries, science, technology and innovation.
The fourth axis was concerned with defining ways to consolidate the values of tolerance, cohesion and respect in a safe, positive and happy society characterised by a high quality of life and investing in all its societal energies.
Also, some initiatives and projects developed and innovated by some ministries and institutions in the country were presented within the agenda of 2020, the year of preparing for the fiftieth year, to achieve the objectives of the project.
