Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) has opened the door for registration to participate in World Bicycle Day 2021, which will be held, on Friday, 4th of June, at the Sharjah Corniche in cooperation with the Endurance Sports Services and the Sharjah Triathlon Team.
The event comes in line with the keenness of SSC to promote this sport in the Emirate of Sharjah and encourage the public to practice various sports, including cycling.

The opportunity to participate in the event is available for different groups of both genders through optional registration at the link www.eevents.ae/cyc. 

The event aims to encourage the participation of at least 1000 of different ages, while the race categories will be from the free category and the paid category to participate remotely. The race will start at 6 AM and lasts for two hours for a distance of 9 km, with slow bicycles on the right side of the track and fast bicycles on the left side. The maximum speed allowed for cyclists is 30 km/h, with each participant in the paid category gets a commemorative medal and every participant in the virtual paid category participate certificate and medal with delivery.

On this occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), indicated that the organisation of this event coincides with the World Bicycling Day and that is within SSC’s keenness to enhance the value of this sport in the Emirate and reflect the role of SSC in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA) and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Sharjah Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler, and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), in line with their continuous and unlimited support for sports and athletes.
