Sharjah 24: The karate team of Sharjah Women's Sports Club (SWSC) played an exceptional season in 2020/2021 despite the conditions that challenged the game, not only at the state level, but also at the global level due to the Corona pandemic.
During the season, the SWSC girls managed to give wonderful performances resulting in great achievements, both at the level of UAE Karate Federation championships, or other tournaments that have taken place locally, such as the Future Stars Championship and the 13th edition of the Ramadan tournament; or at the international level, such as the UK Open Karate Championship.
Karate in SWSC enjoys the attention from those in charge of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, as they monitor the game developments, learn about the season’s tournaments and attend tournaments and the players training, which contributed to boost their morale, and their performance.
The Club team won the league for the collective kumite class, the gold medal, and won the second place and the silver medal in the Karate Championship Cup of His Highness Head of State.
Hind Al Hosani, representative of the Sharjah Women's Sports Club, said that the Club plans, are inspired by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. The Club implement such plans with utmost care through work with those in charge of the game, and it is not possible to overlook the great role that the Sharjah Sports Council plays in supporting SWSC to reach a great level participating in tournaments locally and globally.
