Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sharjah Department of Culture will be organising the third version of the Sharjah Cultural Honouring Forum (SCHF), at the Ministry of Higher Education Hall in Khartoum on 17-May.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture, stressed that SCHF, which aims at honouring Arab personalities and intellectuals who have contributed to the service of contemporary Arab culture, will devote the third version of it to 4 Sudanese writers and thinkers; Issa Al Hilu, Nabil Ghali, Al Hasan Mohammed Said, and Dr. Mubarak Hasan Al Khalifa.
A cultural symposium will be organised hosting a group of thinkers, critics and media professionals in the ceremony held on the sideline of the third forum.
The forum pays tribute to the creativity and impact of intellectuals, within the framework of the cultural mission of Sharjah, the beacon of Arab culture, thanks to the guidance, attention, care and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
Al Owais stressed that His Highness Sharjah Ruler has always been so keen to carry on initiatives to empower the Arab intellectuals enhancing their positive impact in their societies and their presence in Arab cultural scene.
The first honorary ceremony of the initiative was organised in the city of Damanhur in Beheira Governorate in Egypt, where the great thinker and translator, Sayid Imam was honoured, while the second was held in Tetouan in Morocco, and the writer, Hasnaa Daoud was honoured in that version.
Issa Al-Hilu is a veteran Sudanese storyteller, novelist and journalist.
Nabil Ghali is a storyteller and journalist who contributed a lot to Arab literature and thought.
Al Hasan Muhammad Said is a renowned writer and novelist.
Mubarak Hasan Al Khalifa is a poet, critic, and educator who has many contributions to contemporary Arab culture.
