Al Naqbi: 14 teams taking part in ‘Women’s Basketball Tournament’

Nada Askar Al Naqbi, Director of Women Sports Department in Sharjah, announced the participation of 14 teams from various regions of the emirate in the activities of the first edition of the tournament.

In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24”, Al Naqbi said that the one-day tournament, organised under the auspices of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), witnessed the distinguished participation of about 56 players of various nationalities.

She appreciated the efforts of the Department 's strategic partners in organising the first tournament of its kind on the coasts of the charming city of Khorfakkan, including the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority "Shurooq".

She underscored the Department’s keenness to encourage women to practice sport and make it a way of life in line with the visions and directives of the wise leadership that provides all means of support for institutions in organising such purposeful events.
