Sharjah 24: As part of its development plan that meets the needs of the municipal council in Al Madam area, the Sharjah Public Works Department (SPWD), represented by the Branches Department, has completed the lighting of Al Madam Public Park in the Central Region of the emirate, in implementation of the department’s strategy to provide all services to recreational and vital facilities.
Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Head of SPWD affirmed the department’s keenness to play a pivotal and important role within its responsibility towards the environment and its preservation, adding that thanks to the efforts of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Al Madam area has turned into an oasis vibrant with life, and the area is receiving great attention by the Sharjah government, as it contains many urban and other infrastructure projects, in addition to the completion of lighting the garden.

For his part, Engineer Mohammed bin Yarouf, Head of the SPWD’s Branches Department explained that the department installed and extended electricity and lighting poles in the garden using 110 decorative and energy-saving lighting poles according to the highest and best international standards. The poles were distributed over the seating areas, various garden playgrounds, and the recently added children's play area.

Child-friendly toys have also been supplied and installed in accordance with the highest international standards, and some of these games have taken into account the children with disability.

Sultan Mohammed bin Huwaiden, Chairman of Al Madam Municipal Council, affirmed that the public park lighting project is one of the important projects that serve the people of the region, adding that the project, which has received great approval from the park's visitors and citizens, has been accomplished with the efforts and cooperation of the SPWD.
