Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC) has organised a series of honourary meetings for the authors of its publications for the year 2019-2020, with high observation of the precautionary measures in place to curb the spread of coronavirus.

This was announced by Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture.

He said that the Department is keen to organise this ceremony annually to celebrate its authors and their publications, to thank them for their research, scientific and knowledge efforts in spreading the message of culture and knowledge, according to the vision and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, which stems from the active role adopted by the Department of Culture in contributing to the promotion of intellectual, literary and artistic taste, believing in the impact of culture and science on the advancement of nations with an enlightened thought and approach.

Al Owais added that the department is keen on supporting and caring for writers through translating their publications and showcasing them at local, regional and international fairs.
