Lt. Gen. Al Shafar crowns winners of 39th PSC

Sharjah 24: Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, witnessed on Wednesday the closing ceremony of the 39th edition of the annual Police Shooting Championship (PSC), organised by Police Sports Association at the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with Sharjah Police, at Khudeira Camp ranges in Sharjah.
The event programme included many specialised scenarios for shooting competitions, including tactical shooting on the move contest for (men, women, and officers), the first responder shooting contest with the pistol for (men and women), the speed challenge contest, as well as the police operations rifle shooting contest for men and women.

The closing ceremony was also attended by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Major General Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police; Brigadier General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police; Brigadier General Khalid Ali Shuhail, Deputy Head of the Police Sports Association; General Directors of Sharjah Police and senior officers at the Ministry of Interior.

The 10-day competition saw the participation of 450 participants representing 11 teams from various police and security leaderships at the Ministry of Interior.

Upon arrival at the venue, the patron of the ceremony, Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, he was received by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police and senior officers. They watched a film that highlighted the different stages of the Police Shooting Championship up to the thirty-ninth edition.

Dubai Police General Headquarters team won the first place, while the Special Security Forces Command team came in the second place, and the Sharjah Police Headquarter team was ranked third.

Lieutenant General Al Shafar expressed his thanks and appreciation to the wise leadership for the support and follow-up provided to policemen in various fields of work and providing them with the latest technologies applied globally in order to meet all the challenges they face in performing their multiple tasks, praising the level of the Police Shooting Championship, with the support of the Sharjah Police Headquarters. He also hailed the performance of all the teams participating in the competition.

For his part, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi expressed his happiness with the success of the annual Police Shooting Championship . He thanked His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; and lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for their support and generous care for this distinguished sporting event. 

The Sharjah Police Commander-in-Chief extended his thanks and appreciation to Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, for his support and sincere guidance, which had an effective impact on the success of this edition of the competition, and also extended his thanks to all those who contributed to the success of the championship and the winners.

In conclusion, the Police Sports Association presented a souvenir to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, on this occasion.
