SCC’s Ed. Committee visits Al Madam, Al Dhaid, Al Batayeh clubs

Sharjah 24: The Education, Culture, Media and Youth Affairs Committee of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) as the committee dealing with sports, continued its series of visits to sports clubs in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The visits included Al Madam Sports and Cultural Club, Al Dhaid Sports and Cultural Club, and Al Batayeh Cultural and Sports Club, with the aim of learning about the sports and cultural programmes and projects. In addition to, the training of players and the participation in local and international sports.

These visits come within the framework of the coordination of SCC with Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), aiming to visit all the sports clubs of the Emirate, as part of the committee’s initiative to communicate directly with the clubs and their boards of directors to motivate the clubs to continue exerting more effort towards success.

The committee delegation from SCC included His Excellency Dr. Hamid Jassim Al Suwaiji Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Committee, along with the presence of top officials from the committee, the general secretariat and SCC. 

In this regard, His Excellency the Chairman of the Committee stressed the importance of the committee’s initiatives and plans within its work for the second regular session of the tenth legislative term to visit clubs. In addition to, reviewing and discussing ideas with the clubs to contribute to the development of the sports sector for various clubs teams, which are part of the great support by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for sports in general and for clubs in particular.

The first visit was to Al Madam Sports and Cultural Club, during which the committee delegation from SCC met with His Excellency Sultan Mohamed Bin Howaiden, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Madam Club and members of the Board of Directors. The meeting was held in the club’s library, with aim of addressing the club’s achievements and its vision in developing sports and culture within it, along with the community participation in various events.

The club presented a statement on the entire club's team and individual games and their role in attracting and qualifying players, along with the interest the club pays in this regard to the archery team. As the club aims to represent the country in all foreign participations as well as interest in cultural activity, especially the momentum of events that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The committee toured the club halls and met the players on the sidelines of the visit, and at the end of the visit, the club’s chairman presented a memorial shield to the delegation in appreciation to the visit.

After that, the committee visited the Al Dhaid Sports and Cultural Club and was received by His Excellency Salem Mohammed bin Howaiden, Chairman of the Board of Directors, accompanied by a number of members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director. 

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views and were acquainted with the role that the club plays in developing sports plans and its teams, whether in team and individual sports, its interest in youth, and the club's communication with schools and the community.

Al Dhaid club informed the delegation on the club’s policies in attracting and training players, organising lectures and cultural programmes. In addition to organising IELTS courses in cooperation with the American University of Sharjah (AUS) and the University of Sharjah (UoS), along with the many cultural events.

At the end of the visit to Al Dhaid Club, the delegation were acquainted with the club’s international shooting hall and received a briefing about the club’s role in qualifying shooters for local, Gulf and international participation, and the club aims to represent the country in shooting tournaments.

After that, the committee's delegation from SCC visited Al Batayeh Cultural and Sports Club. His Excellency Hamad bin Hamouda Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club, received the delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides emphasised the importance of such visits, with the aim of continuing the exchange of technical and administrative development ideas that serve the interest of sports in the Emirate of Sharjah in particular and at the state level in general. 

The meeting also witnessed a briefing on the club's various plans and vision in the field of football and various sports.

The delegation toured the club’s facilities, after which His Excellency Hamad bin Hamouda Al Ketbi presented a memorial shield to SSC in appreciation of the club’s visit and the great cooperation in developing sports goals.
