Sharjah 24: Ismail Abdullah, Secretary General of the Arab Theatre Authority, on the Arab Day of Theatre, on behalf of Arab dramatists, expressed his deepest thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for His Highness’s unlimited support for the cultural and theatrical movement.
In exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24", he stated that starting from 10 January 2008 every year on the same date, Arab Day of Theatre, is celebrated.
He pointed out that the establishment of the Arab Theatre Authority was one of the historical initiatives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and thanks to His Highness’s support, the authority has become a welcoming place for Arab dramatists and in appreciation to such vision the Arab Day of Theatre is celebrated on the 10 January every year.
