Sharjah 24: Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH) organised the activities of the Sudanese Cultural Day in Sharjah, through its virtual platform.
The event included the opening video of the footage from the Sudanese Heritage Week in 2017, in addition to Sudanese art shows, traditional fashion shows, Sudanese cosmetic products, traditional handicrafts, leather products manufacturing, pottery making, and Sudanese cuisine.

The event also witnessed a virtual journey in the regions of Sudan, which is considered the food basket of Africa and the Arab world, with its cultural, civilisational, heritage and ethnic diversity, which constitute a qualitative value for Sudan and a distinctive mark deserving of knowledge.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of Sharjah Institute for Heritage (SIH), stated that the cultural days came as a continuation of the World Heritage Week organised by SIH, and out of a spirit to communicate, interact and organise various programmes related to heritage.

His Excellency maintained that such endeavour confirms the role of SIH and its efforts in preserving the heritage, and communicating with the world in this regard, adding that the Sudanese Cultural Day in Sharjah through the virtual platform showcases an interesting journey through Sudan, with its environmental, geographical, cultural and heritage diversity.

His Excellency pointed out that Sudan is considered an important and diverse repository of original customs, traditions, arts and values, and its geographical location plays an important role in this diversity, and its ancient heritage reflects Arab and African features in an intertwining and vital mixing that supports the national belonging of the Sudanese people.
