Sharjah24: The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah inaugurated the Utbah Bin Rabi’a Al-Qurashi Mosque and the Bashir Bin Saad Al-Ansari Mosque, with the two mosques accommodating approximately 450 worshipers, as part of the Department’s strategic plan for the current year to translate the visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in providing all facilities and services to enhance the stability of the emirate’s residents, and keep pace with the renaissance and urban expansion in the emirate.
The two mosques were built according to the modern Islamic architectural style, with all the service facilities that would provide an atmosphere of faith for the mosque-goers, including a prayer room for men and another for women, parking lots, housing for the imam and other service facilities.

The Utbah bin Rabi’a Al-Qurashi Mosque is located in the Raqiba 5 district in the suburb of Al-Suyoh on a total land area of 3488 square meters, and accommodates 300 worshipers, while the Bashir bin Saad al-Ansari Mosque is located in the Hoshi area on a total land area of 2,400 square meters, with a capacity of 150 worshipers.

The opening of the two mosques comes to meet the needs of the regions and suburbs according to the population density and urban development in each region, as the number of mosques that have been opened so far in the suburb of Al-Suyoh reached 18 mosques, and 4 mosques in the Hoshi area.
