Khorfakkan film a message from Sharjah Ruler to region citizens

Sharjah24: Fans of the UAE will have the opportunity to watch "Khorfakkan" film, written by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, during the inauguration of the Khorfakkan Amphitheater, which is inspired by the Roman and Islamic styles, which accommodates 3600 spectators and contains 6 main elevators.
His Excellency Mohamed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and the general supervisor of the film, stated in exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24" that His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah wanted, through the "Khorfakkan" film, to convey a message and information that many may have read through books, or they learned it in schools, but the picture was not as clear and clear as what the film depicts, indicating that the viewers, especially the people of the region, when they watch Khorfakkan film and their resistance to the Portuguese invasion, will fully realize how they were able to impose their power against the Portuguese Invasion.

For his part, Tony Dejan, the producer of the Khorfakkan movie, said that he was commissioned by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority to produce the film, in which 220 crews from 8 countries from all over the world participated, explaining that the film production began in 2018 and filming in 2019, with a total period of up to 7 weeks.

Dejan explained that his role in the film is to supervise all elements of production, and to make sure that the film is completed according to the specified time frame, adding that the film's events revolve around the Portuguese invasion of Khorfakkan in 1507, and the events that followed until 1534.

He pointed out that the scenes of the movie were filmed on the beach of Al Zubarah, and these scenes show the steadfastness of the people of Khorfakkan, and the city's resistance to the Portuguese invasion.

The film will be shown at the Khorfakkan Amphitheater from 15 to 17 December at 19:30 UAE local time, and the film will also be available in cinemas in the country, as of December 17.
