Sharjah 24: Sharjah Charity International (SCI) represented by the Khorfakkan Department, launched on Monday, Shees Charity Campaign to support workers and farmers in the region, and included the distribution of winter bags and a combination of basic foodstuffs.
Salem Rashid Al Naqbi, Director of Khorfakkan Department at SCI, affirmed SCI’s keenness to extend a helping hand to the needy in various regions of the Emirate.
In statements to “Sharjah 24” on the sidelines of the launch of the Shees Charity Campaign to support workers and farmers, Al Naqbi said that the campaign aimed to provide winter bags to the beneficiaries, which include blankets and winter clothes to protect them from the cold weather.
Al Naqbi added that the campaign targeted about 50 individuals, but the number of beneficiaries exceeded 150 workers from companies working on the ongoing projects in the region.
The campaign also consists of the distribution of a food basket that includes some basic commodities and materials, including barley, flour and other various materials.
Al Naqbi pointed out that such campaigns are among the main programmes that SCI is keen to launch in various cities and regions of the Emirate, due of its role in drawing smiles on the faces of workers and spreading the principles and values of social solidarity.
