Sharjah 24: The city of Khorfakkan witnessed great turnout of visitors from all over the country on the first day of the 49th National Day holiday, which was estimated in the thousands, amid a remarkable flow of traffic as a result of the intense security presence of the police.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Aziz Saeed Al Hamoudi, Head of the Traffic and Patrols Department at the Eastern Region Police Department, congratulated the leadership of the United Arab Emirates and its people on the 49th anniversary of the National Day.
In exclusive statements to "Sharjah 24", he said that the Eastern Region Police Department, under the directives of His Excellency Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, prepared a proactive plan to ensure traffic flow in the cities of the region during the National Day holiday.
He pointed out that, with the close follow-up of Colonel Ali Al Kai Al Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern Region Police Department, the department intensified the spread of traffic patrols in vital points, intersections and at tourist destinations in the region's cities, especially the city of Khorfakkan, which witnessed thousands of visitors on Wednesday.
Al Hamoudi continued that due to the mild weather and the recent opening of many tourism projects in Khorfakkan, the city witnessed a remarkable turnout of visitors, according to expectations, concentrated in some destinations.
He concluded that the intensive security contributed to achieving the desired traffic flow, which aims to ensure safety for road and pedestrian users, calling on vehicle drivers to be careful while driving on the highways and in the inner streets, and expressing his wishes for everyone to spend an enjoyable holiday.
