Sharjah24: Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka defeated American Jessica Pegula in straight sets to keep her hopes alive of winning the US Open, the last of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, for the third consecutive year, and to secure a place in the final against Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina.

Sabalenka dominated her match against Pegula, emerging victorious with a score of 7-5, 6-2 on Arthur Ashe Stadium. She defeated the American in the 2024 Flushing Meadows semifinals and again in the 2025 final.

In contrast, Rybakina overturned her deficit against Gauff, the 2023 champion, by a set to secure a well-deserved 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory.
