Betis secures victory with late goal

The hosts secured the win thanks to a goal from substitute Troy Parrott (81).

With this loss, the "Royal Club" remained on nine points, sitting in second place—trailing leaders Barcelona on goal difference—ahead of the defending champions' away match against Valencia on Sunday.

The 36-time league champions tasted their first La Liga defeat following a late opening-day victory over Espanyol (2–1) and two emphatic home wins against Real Sociedad (4–1) and Málaga (4–0).

Meanwhile, Betis moved to nine points—sitting third behind Real on goal difference—having secured their third league win of the season against a single loss.
