Sharjah 24 – AFP: Real Madrid have completed the signing of 19-year-old Spanish midfielder Sergio Martinez from Racing Santander after triggering his three-million-euro ($3.5 million) release clause, as announced on Monday. Martinez, who scored against Villarreal in the league opener, is initially slated to feature for Real Madrid's reserve squad.

This acquisition adds to a busy summer for the club under returning manager José Mourinho, highlighted by the record-breaking $162 million arrival of Ivorian midfielder Yann Diomande. Following two consecutive seasons without a major trophy, Mourinho's side has kicked off the new La Liga campaign in dominant fashion with three straight victories.
