Sharjah24: The Sharjah Department of Culture has released issue No. 84 of both Al Sharqiya and Al Wusta magazines for September 2026. The two issues feature topics highlighting various aspects of the growing development landscape in Sharjah’s Central and Eastern regions.

Al Sharqiya Magazine

Issue No. 84 of Al Sharqiya magazine highlights, in its “Achievement” section, the efforts of the Roads and Transport Authority to develop the road and transport network across the emirate’s cities and regions. These include Al Hisn Island Bridge project in Dibba Al Hisn, completed last August at a cost exceeding AED30 million, as well as the development of the ring road in Kalba.

In the “Path to the Summit” section, the issue features an interview with Rashid Saeed Al Naqbi from Al Luluyah in Khorfakkan, a former member of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) . The “Authentic Features” section introduces Maryam Salem Al Naqbi, who was born and raised in Al Ghubana in Khorfakkan and shares memories of the past and insights into the role of women in her community.

In “Educator of Generations”, teacher Athari Hassan Al Matroushi Al Zaabi from Kalba discusses her career in education. Meanwhile, the “Work” section features Mohammed Al Zaabi, who established a stationery business in Kalba, combining his commitment to his job with his ambition to create a venture with personal and community value.

The “Welcome” section takes readers to rest areas that reveal the natural beauty of Khorfakkan, while “Under the Spotlight” highlights activities organised by libraries in the Eastern Region as spaces for learning and creativity.

The “Field” section features an interview with Ahmed Al Dhanhani, whose disability has not diminished his passion for sport. In “Path”, engineer and designer Fatima Mohammed Salem Bishk Al Marashda from Kalba discusses how she transformed her talent and passion into a creative career in women’s fashion design.

The “On the Path” section explores the experience of young Mansour Al Mansouri as he moves from team sports to the challenges of individual sports. Readers can also learn about the towers and forts of Khorfakkan in “Heritage Descriptions”, explore letters as documents preserving community memory in “Memory”, and discover the story of Suhail Al Barout, who remains present in the memories of Kalba residents, in the “Biography” section, along with other engaging content.

Al Wusta Magazine

Issue No. 84 of Al Wusta magazine focuses, in its “Achievement” section, on expanding the range of organic products offered by the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment “Iktifaa”. At the beginning of last August, the establishment introduced cheese and powdered milk products as part of its plan to launch 140 organic products over this year and the next.

In “Path to the Summit”, readers can find an interview with Dr Ahmed Mohammed Khalfan bin Omair Al Ketbi, Head of the Media Department at the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs, discussing key milestones in his upbringing and academic and professional career.

The “Authentic Features” section features Hamdan Rashid bin Matraf Al Tunaiji, who recalls stories from the past and aspects of life among the people of the Central Region. In “Work”, Mohammed Obaid Al Shamti, a specialist in traditional medicine, discusses the story of a profession passed down through generations. The “Palm Grower” section introduces farmer Salem Ali Salem Bal Al Aidhab Al Ketbi, who shares his experience of growing date palms for more than four decades.

In “Welcome”, readers explore Souq Sharia Al Dhaid, its architectural details and traditional atmosphere. The “Under the Spotlight” section covers highlights from the 10th Al Dhaid Date Festival, held last July.

The “Field” section follows champion Salem Mohammed Rashid Al Yamahi’s journey in shooting, a sport in which he has achieved significant accomplishments with Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club and the national team. Meanwhile, “On the Path” highlights the story of young Zayed bin Hwaiden Al Ketbi and his involvement in camel racing.

In the “Biography” section, the issue sheds light on the life of the late Ghneiba bint Abdullah bin Dalmouk Al Ketbi, who was known for her expertise in traditional medicine. The issue also includes a diverse selection of news and reports.
